Self-Containment Certification

Getting your vehicle self-contained allows you to stop at freedom and private camping areas that have limited or no access to toilet facilities and helps to protect our environment from public health issues associated with illegal waste disposal.

There are minimum requirements to gain self-containment certification, they are:

•   Fresh water supply, 4L per person each day with a minimum of 12L per person
•   Sink, water tight seal connection to a waste water tank
•   Grey/black waste water tank, 12L per person minimum, vented and monitored
•   Evacuation hose for emptying waste water tanks
•   Sealable rubbish bin
•   Toilet (portable or fixed) with a minimum 3L net holding tank capacity per person
